Period Delay
If you take the combined contraceptive pill, you can delay your period by taking 2 packets back-to-back. Please carefully read the following:

Erectile Dysfunction
These tablets work by increasing the blood flow to the penis
It usually takes 30-60 minutes for the tablets to work. Sidenafil can be taken up to 4 hours before you want to have sex and tadalafil up to 24 hours.
The tablet will not immediately cause an erection. to work properly, you will still need to be sexually excited.

Hair Loss in Men
Finasteride is often used to treat men with symptoms of an enlarged prostate. However, if can also be used to treat men for hair loss.
It can take up about 4 months for the effect to be noticeable and more than a year for full hair growth.
Finasteride dose not work in women with male pattern baldness.
Important – pregnant women must not touch crushed or broken finasteride tablets. This medicine passed through skin and can harm an unborn baby.

Orlistat works by preventing some of the fat from the food you eat from being absorbed. It may avoid gaining weight but does not always cause you to lose weight.
Orlistat is usually advised if you have started to make progress in losing weight through lifestyle changes such as dietary changes and exercise
Treatment beyond 3 months is only recommended if you have lost 5% of your body weight. If you haven’t we would not advise orlistat and recommend discussing this with your GP.
Migraine Treatment
A migraine isn’t just an ordinary ‘headache’ and would normally need require a diagnosis by a doctor. People who suffer from migraines experience a range of other symptoms including visual disturbance, nausea and sometimes vomiting. Migraine can still respond to usual forms of pain relief such as paracetamol and anti-inflammatory pain killers. An alternative to painkillers is a group of drugs call ‘Triptans’. These tablets can be very effective at treating migraine if taken only when the headache begins. They work by mimicking the action of a chemical in the brain called serotonin. If you have already been diagnosed with migraine and have benefitted from Sumatriptan tablets, then fill in the questionnaire to provide more information so we can check if it is safe and appropriate for you to use.

Morning After Pill
This should really be referred to as emergency contraception. If you have had unprotected sex and don’t want to become pregnancy, then you may need emergency contraception. You can still obtain emergency contraception from your GP Surgery or a local sexual health clinic. You can also purchase it from pharmacies such as Linthorpe Pharmacy. The most common type of emergency contraception is a single dose of a tablet containing a the hormone Levonorgestrol. There are different brands, but they all contain the same drug. It’s best to take emergency contraception as soon as possible after unprotected sex, but this doesn’t have to be the ‘morning after’. The tablet may still effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex.
